About Us
Natola Women and Children Empowerment Initiative (NWCEI) was established and registered (Reg. certificate 80020003793084) as a non-governmental organization in 2020. NWCEI engages with socio-economic situations that disadvantage women and children’s potential for growth in Kamuli District, Busoga sub-region in Eastern Uganda. Key examples of such disempowering situations include cases of extreme poverty, women and child abuse, discriminatory practices against Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) among women and children which limit their engagement in profitable production, economic exclusion & exploitation of women and children, and the destruction environmental resources that would otherwise protect the most vulnerable, women and children, against poverty, hunger and health problems.

Our services
We mobilize, sensitize and train women and children in human rights, gender equality, advocacy, nutrition and family life, especially the inclusion of PWDs, in changing negative societal and cultural beliefs and attitudes.
We mobilize and support parents of children with disabilities to form associations that provide them with a voice to advocate for the inclusion of their children’s rights and welfare in community decision-making.
We are dedicated to upskilling farmers’ financial literacy levels through business rescue courses which help them to improve their money-spending habits, manage their financial affairs, through record keeping and expenditure tracking, in order to make better informed business decisions.
We promote special health services for women and children, especially PWDs, by providing reproductive health awareness seminars on topics including STDs, contraception and HIV/AIDS.
We provide instructional materials to aid their learning and facilitate their movement in rough, terrain, rugged and slippery roads, especially during the rainy season.
We construct toilets and harvesting in schools to provide children with clean water and soap to wash their hands.
We support the establishment of school health clubs managed by the children to promote cleanliness.
We provide sanitary pads to young girls and train them on how to make reusable sanitary pads. This will address the high school drop-out rate among girls owing to improved hygiene and greater self-confidence.
We provide affordable irrigating schemes to lessen the effects of unreliable rainfall, thereby by improving food security and promoting better health among women and children.
Without a healthy environment there is no healthy economy & community development.
We provide women with tree seedlings, train them in organic farming, construction of energy saving stoves and briquettes.
We provide women and school-going children with solar lighting in order to get clean source of light and reduce on health risks associated with firewood or charcoal use.
